Top 3 Disney Snacks at Disney California Adventure

Magical Blogorail Orange Logo

Welcome to those of you joining me from Capturing Magical Memories and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail and I am on the West Coast so Disneyland Resort is my playground and I will be covering the top 3 snacks at Disney California Adventure.

1. Cozy Cone Motel Snacks

I am a sucker for snappy names of snacks and the Cozy Cone Motel Snacks is the place to be if you want some “Chili Cone Queso” served in a bread cone. There is a lot to choose from at the Cozy Cone and they even have a breakfast menu too. So I am naming the Cozy Cone as one of the must stop at places in the morning for a Bacon Scramble Cone. You know how hard it is to sit down and eat when the kiddos are always on the go. If you need a little extra morning fuel then grab one of the scrambles and zoom off to your next adventure in Cars Land. The Cozy Cone Motel Snacks is located behind the Cozy Cone where Mater and Lightening McQueen pose for pictures.

2. Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream

I love to duck into Clarabelle’s for a nice ice cream treat. Clarabelle’s is located on Buena Vista Street. It actually shares dining space with Fiddler Fifer and Practical Cafe but the atmosphere has a vintage feel and is dedicated to the career of the Silver Lake Sisters. Huh? Who are they you ask? Here is an excerpt from the Disneyland website about them.

Who Are the Silver Lake Sisters?

Fiddler, Fifer and Practical are the stars of the 1933 animated short The Three Little Pigs, Fiddler and Fifer being the work-shirking music lovers and Practical being the fore thinking builder of a sturdy brick house. As the story goes, Walt was inspired to create these 3 iconic characters by Dottie, Dolly and Ethel, a 1920s performing trio collectively known as The Silver Lake Sisters. In addition to singing, the sisters each played an instrument, just like their Little Pig counterparts. But unlike The Three Little Pigs, Dottie, Dolly and Ethel loved coffee and thus decided to open a coffee shop.

All over the café’s walls, you’ll see memorabilia from The Silver Lake Sisters’ heyday, from black-and-white publicity photos to posters of venues they’ve played, including the Hollywood Tower Hotel ballroom. You’ll also notice a music theme throughout, including booths inlaid with stained glass featuring instrument motifs. Outside, find open-air seating looking out on bustling Buena Vista Street and the beautiful Art Deco-style Carthay Circle fountain. It’s the perfect place to relax, recharge and gather inspiration for your next adventure.

So take a step back into time and enjoy one of Clarabelle’s hand-scooped sundaes for the family to share and pick up your copy of The Buena Vista Bugle. The two scoop sundae comes in this cute plastic “kitchen sink”.

  1. We didn’t make it to Clarabelle’s on our trip but they just added the Kitchen Sink to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at the Magic Kingdom so maybe I’ll try it there. 🙂 Do you know if there is a vegetarian breakfast option at the Cozy Cone?

    • Yes! There a vegetarian option for breakfast and it is called the Verde Scramble Cone -Scramble Eggs, Salsa Verde and Queso Fresco served in a bread cone. Thank you for asking.

  2. Jodi Whisenhunt says:

Wow, that all looks good! Have you tried that portobello “dog” yet? I’m not a vegan, but I enjoy veggie sandwiches & that looks yummy!

  3. Yum, Clarabelle’s is an excellent choice to get some great ice cream! They have a location over at Toontown in Disneyland too, don’t they? I vaguely remember it when we were there last year. Thanks for sharing!

    • You are correct ! But in Toontown she is only serving up snacks such as Turkey Sandwiches, Kids’s Power Packs and treats such as frozen vanilla yogurt parfait and ice cream bars.

  4. I think we have some of the cone snacks available at WDW now. I would hesitate to try one, though, because they look like they’d be messy. I can just see me biting into it and it falling all over my shirt! So, do tell . . . are they messy?

I LOVE your kitchen sink! I want one like that. That’s it – – – I NEED to get to DIsneyland!

    • Think of the bread cone like an ice cream cone. It takes a little bit of balance between eating the inside and peeling away the bread. It can be messy but only if not attacked correctly. 😉

  5. Yummy! The kitchen sink looks so fun, I think my family of 5 will end up slitting this when we visit Magic Kingdom. Did you think that the Cozy Cone Chili Con Queso is messy? Spicy?

    • The Cozy Cone Chili Con Queso can be messy a little messy but you just need to attack it correctly. You can get a fork and eat it and rip off the bread cone as you eat down the Chili Con Queso. I don’t recall how spicy it is.

  6. Ice cream! YUM. And a sandwich in a bread cone? I’m ready for some now. 😉

  7. Oh no! We were just at Cars Land and I didn’t think the Chili Cone Queso would be worth the effort but your picture leaves me full of regret for not having tried it!

  8. I would love to check out Award Wieners Hot Dogs! I love condiments and piling my food with all the extras I can! That picture looks amazing… and then I would def. make room for Clarabells just so I could see the Mickey Kitchen sink! What is your fav. Award Wiener Hot Dog?? :))

  9. Clarabelle’s is sooooo yummy! My daughter loves the hand dipped ice cream bar where she can pick the sprinkles.

  10. I am definitely adding these treat to our future DL trip list. When researching food for my son’s Cars Land party, I read the menu for the different cones. Are there any other must try cones that you would recommend?

  11. Those hot dogs look amazing – they might even convince my Chicago-born husband to give California a chance!

  12. Oh how I love the Cozy Cones- all of them! Well, I haven’t gotten every snack at every orange cone yet, but it is a personal quest that I will hopefully complete at November’s Avenger’s Half Marathon Weekend. Running comes in so handy!
