I have two girls and we are well on our way through the many stages of oral development. My eight year old has lost many of her baby teeth and just had her first Orthodontist appointment; while my four year old is starting that transition to a big kid toothpaste.

So Many Decisions

When I was encountering the world of oral care for my oldest daughter when she was a baby, I didn’t really know what to get. I stood in the Tooth brushing isle at Target and could NOT decided what to get. Each item had an age range on them or a ‘stage’ and being a first time Mommy I was afraid I would buy the wrong thing. Then I saw him, he was red, furry and I knew he was what my little girl was going to love. It was an Elmo combo pack with tooth paste with a cute tooth brush. I swooped in and bought four combo packs so I wouldn’t run out!

She loved brushing her teeth and really felt like a big girl taking care of her teeth. When it came time to get a first tooth brush for my second daughter, I didn’t hesitate but this time I got a surprise. Now Abby Cadabby was available and that was her favorite and thankfully they had a few in stock so I grabbed those. I actually ended up finding them at the dollar store for while so if you can’t find them at Target or Walmart then try the dollar store.

Ponies, Trains, Bears and Elmo

Both of my girls really liked the Orajel training toothpaste and we have been through all of the flavors from Little Bear, Elmo, Thomas the Train and My Little Pony. These were a nice transition from the Elmo toothpaste. I keep at least two tubes of it in stock so I never run out.

My Little Pony Training Toothpaste Orajel

We are now moving away from My Little Pony tooth paste for my four year old and into the next phase that Orajel offers. This is the phase where the tooth paste may taste a little bit different than before so it is important that she like it right away. Since the characters really seem to matter to my four year old she was willing to give her ‘big girl’ toothpaste a try when she saw it had the Bubble Guppies on it. I even got her a new tooth brush to match.

My girls are both on different timelines for their oral care, but I know that by sticking with Orajel I will always have made the right choice for them.
