Meet Your Ghost Host for a Spooktacular Tour at Disneyland Resort

My favorite time to visit Disneyland is during Halloween Time.  I know that Christmas Time is also very magical at Disneyland but it is also pretty darn crowded. Disneyland offers wonderful tours and one of my favorites is the Happiest Haunts Tour.

I enjoy Disneyland during Halloween Time because the crowds are manageable, the weather is fantastic – warm (not hot) during the day and cool at night, cool enough for a sweatshirt.   I love walking around Disneyland when there is a slight chill in the air.

Entering Disneyland and seeing Main Street, U.S.A. all decked out in fall colors is really magical.  It reminds me of living in a small town and having a fall festival.  The streets and shop windows are lined with pumpkins from the Pumpkin Festival where no two pumpkins are alike.

The Halloween treats are supper yummy, my kids love the caramel apples.

Visiting the Haunted Mansion is a “must do” because of the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay creating the Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Happiest Haunts Tour

If you’ve been to Disneyland during Halloween Time and feel like ‘you’ve been there, done that” then you should check out the Happiest Haunts Tour.

The Happiest Haunts Tour is a walking tour that will last three hours.  Your Tour Guide and “Ghost Host” will take you to visit both California Adventure and Disneyland parks. They will point out spooky sightings and tell you tales of happy haunts. During the tour you will get to experience some rides with front line access. You will also get to enjoy seasonal Halloween treats and you will receive a collectible pin.

The tour costs $85.00 and theme park admission is not included.  If you are an Annual Pass holder you will get 15% off the tour.  For the ultimate experience consider combining your tour with trick-or-treating fun at Mickey’s Halloween Party.

To book your tour or if you have questions call Reservations at 714-781-TOUR (8687) and be sure to book your tour 30 days in advance.  The tour is only available during Halloween Time.

This looks like a fun tour! I’ve always wanted to visit the parks at Halloween time. Front of the line access sounds great too! Which rides are typically offered?

  2. JenniferLissak says:

Sounds like a lot of fun, but a very pricey tour! I would love to see Disneyland decked out in Halloween decorations someday!

  3. Tim Brooks says:

Halloween isn’t really my thing but this does sound like a fun tour.

  4. I’m not a huge Halloween fan, but I adore fall with its scents and colors, etc. We got to see the fall decorations at Walt Disney World a few years ago and I’m so glad we did! This sounds like a fun tour. What was your favorite Happy Haunt story?

  5. I’ve never been to Disney during Halloween time, but i’m always intrigued by it! Maybe sometime I’ll get there. What was your favorite part of this tour?

  6. I love fall and Halloween decorations and I bet Disneyland looks amazing!

    • Disneyland looks great and there is a Halloween area in Big Thunder Ranch BBQ too where you can find characters dressed up and take pictures with them.

  7. Lin @ DisneyMamas says:

Wow! That sounds like a great tour! We have never visited during the Halloween season as a family. Putting it on the Bucket List!

  8. This tour sounds like so much fun! We just missed all of the Halloween decorations on our trip last year so I would LOVE to see Disneyland decked out for the holiday.

  9. Oh this does sound like fun, Dawn! All of these tours are incredible sounding, and really are making my bucket list so much longer than I thought it was! Thanks for sharing!

  10. This makes me jealous. My husband will be going at this time of year for the 3rd time and I have never seen it.

  11. I’ve always wanted to visit Disneyland at Halloween. I love that time at WDW, but I always wanted to see my favorite Mansion decorated. Thanks for sharing!

  12. My older son would love that! Wish they did it at WDW!

  13. OMG! This is the first I’ve heard of this tour! I would love to experience this. I wonder if they will ever do something similar at WDW?!

  14. Patricia Mickus says:

Another reason this East Coast gal needs to plan a trip to Disneyland!

  15. Just an FYI, just got back from Disneyland and we did the Happiest Haunts Tour. We were told when booking through Disney that we would need to buy the Park Hopper ticket for this tour because it takes place in both parks, we would ride 6 attractions with front of the line privilege, a bottle of water and treats, that only 15 people were in the group and we were the last 2 reservations. We got: 26 people in our group, 4 rides (because it took so long getting all of us on and off the ride), no water (even though it was a scorching 95+ degrees), a marshmallow (very cute but only one), a cookie, a sample of Starbucks pumpkin latte, not really front of the line entry more like using the handicapped entrance along with everyone else, and on top of all that we didn’t even go to California Adventure so we spent extra on the Park Hopper for nothing! While I have no complaints about the staff and the tour guides (everyone was doing their best), I have a real issue with whomever planned this event and communication with the reservations department.

    • Hi @disqus_Ut9tkVpGAK:disqus – I am so sorry to hear that your Happiest Haunts tour turned out to be not so happy. I know that Disney welcomes feedback about their tours so please let them know about your frustrations with it. The only way for them to improve this tour is with your feedback. You can email Disneyland Guest Services using this link – I hope you have a better Halloween season.
