Disney Nerd Eats Dinner at Club 33 in Disneyland

I was thrilled to be able to take meet some new friends at Club 33 for dinner while in town for the D23 Expo on August 9th, 2013.  I have walked by that wonderful Club 33 door many times and seen people leave the club as well as others excitedly wait by the door for their turn to enter.

This time it would be my turn to excitedly wait by the door to enter.  It is called Club 33 for its address 33 Royal Lane, New Orleans Square.

Club 33 Door

I’ve read many things about Club 33 before my dinner as well as looked at many pictures on the Internet.  I kind of wished I hadn’t done my homework so well because I wanted to be surprised when I entered the club.  But that is ok because there is still the thrill of seeing it for yourself.

Our dinner reservation was for 9pm.  Once inside, there is a small waiting area with the hostess stand, a lift and a set of stairs.

Upstairs is a lot smaller than I thought it would be.  There is 1 hallway that joins the two dining rooms, the bathrooms and a bar area together.

The table was set perfectly, with the napkin folded on top of the plate.  We were handed our menus and told of the option to order the Vintner dinner or the classic style of dinner.  I had already decided to order the Chateaubriand and a Caesar Salad (although it wasn’t called that on the menu, lol).

The chef prepared an appetizer for everyone, it was some type of beet and ginger salad on a big spoon followed by a cantaloupe & champagne shooter.

We had a lovely time chatting at the table and taking in the experience of Club 33.  I am a big fan of vintage Disney so this was a special treat for me, one that I will cherish for a lifetime.

We also visited the bathroom and it was a lot smaller than I thought that it would be.  It had a powder room / waiting area in one room and the second room there was a sink and two stalls.

Here is the Caesar Salad & Chateaubriand.

Soon it was time for Fantasmic!! It was awesome to hear the show going on and watching it from the Club 33 balcony.  There are a lot of trees in the way, but it is still cool to see it from up above.

After Fantasmic and dinner we had the opportunity eat some really good deserts.  I opted for the ice cream pop, caramel with dark chocolate popcorn and a cake pop.DSC01519

Once dinner was finished we were happy we learned that we were one of the last groups of people left in the restaurant.  We walked around and took many pictures.

Here are photos of the the Trophy Room which is the other dining room.  Rumor is that this is going to be closed and remodeled.

I was able to purchase a Latte mug from the cabinet, I still haven’t used it yet because I am afraid I am going to drop it!  Club 33 will also print a copy of the menu for you on the same paper they use in the menu.  When we were done we walked out of the park at Midnight and it was an amazing experience, one that I will never forget.
