The D23 Expo is the ultimate Disney event for fans and families August 14 – 16, 2015 in Anaheim, CA.
I attended the D23 Expo in 2013 (it occurs every two years) and I loved it so much that I am bringing my husband along for an awesome adventure this year.
At this expo you will get to experience things you will never get to see any place else. At the expo in 2013 I saw the ORIGINAL pencil sketch of Disneyland that Herb Ryman created. This drawing was used to pitch the idea of Disneyland to investors so they could see what it would actually look like. Herb completed the drawing in just a few days with Walt standing by his side.
I may have cried just a little bit when I saw that drawing.
There is SO much to see and do at the D23 Expo, once you get in side the convention center the options are endless. Returning this year are the Dream Store and the Disney Archives exhibit.
ALEX AND ANI will debut several new styles at D23 EXPO 2015. Fans can expect a variety of jewelry designs featuring everyone’s favorite, Mickey Mouse and a very special “Celebrate” wrap.
Disney Dream Collection and D23 Expo-Exclusive Jewelry: Guests can enjoy a sparkling selection of fine jewelry created for the Disneyland Resort Celebration.
HARVEYS– Created especially for D23 EXPO 2015, this new collection features historical “A, B and, C Ticket Media” on some of their most popular silhouettes.
Dream Store Autograph Sessions–Disney fans will get the chance to meet some of their favorite authors, artists, Disney Legends, and other notable celebrities inside the Dream Store. Autograph sessions will be posted daily via the D23 EXPO Mobile App (available later this summer) and daily at the D23 EXPO Dream Store.
This is pretty much where I will be spending a lot of my time. I am in love with all things Disney but especially Disney History. If Disney History was a degree I could have earned in college then I would have done that.
Disneyland will be celebrating 60 years of magic on July 17, 1955. The D23 Expo will celebrate this magical milestone with a the Disneyland Exhibit featuring more than 300 classic and contemporary items.
Guest of D23 Expo will get to see the ticket that Roy O. Disney purchased on July 18, 1955, the first day the park was open to the general public.
The 12,000-square-foot exhibit, which will be located on the Expo show floor for the first time, will include themed areas that honor the park’s history, attractions, parades, and entertainment over the past six decades, including the construction of Disneyland, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mickey Mouse Club at Disneyland, Club 33, and collectible merchandise, as well as the park’s iconic lands: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Tomorrowland, and Critter Country/Bear Country.
Each area will contain items from Disneyland’s past, including attraction vehicles, costumes, props, and even Audio-Animatronics® figures.
This exhibit is sure to be a hit with any Disney fan, let alone the Disney Nerds out there.
