Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney on Wheels and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
This month we are blogging about the restaurant in the Disney Parks that feels most like a Christmas dinner. I am on the West Coast and Disneyland Resort is where I frequent the most. If I was at the Disneyland Resort for Christmas I would dine at the Carthay Circle Restaurant inside of Disney’s California Adventure. The restaurant is on the second floor of the replica of the iconic Carthay Circle Theater on Buena Vista Street. This area of Disney’s California Adventure is themed after Los Angeles during the 1920’s & 30’s and is decorated during Christmas in retro decor.
The Carthay Circle Theater is where Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered on December 21, 1937 and Fantasia on January 30, 1941 with stereophonic Fantasound.
The Carthay Circle Lounge occupies the first floor and serves appetizers and signature drinks such as the Carthay Martini as well as Walt’s famous Scotch Mist. Hung on the walls of the lounge are photos of wonderful moments in Disney history.
The food that is served on the menu is fantastic and not to be missed are the Carthay House Biscuits stuffed with White Cheddar, Bacon, Jalapeno and served with an Apricot Butter. Don’t let the fancy interior fool you, this is a kid friendly restaurant and you can find Kids Mickey Check meals on the menu as well. You can take a look at the menu on the the Disneyland Resort site. Unfortunately, they don’t provide many pictures of the food so a great place to view photos of the dishes is on Yelp.
To enhance your experience even more consider booking your reservation at the Carthay Circle Restaurant as part of the World of Color Dining Package. After you have finished your meal you will be presented with a voucher for preferred seating at the World of Color show. For more information about the World of Color Dining Package visit the Disneyland Resort World of Color Dining page.
For more information about the Carthay Circle Restaurant visit the Disneyland Resort site. If you want more information about the history of the Carthay Circle Theater and the role is plays in Disney history then hop on over to Yesterland for an in depth report.
